The Second Women's Retreat 2016

Liberec, The Czech Republic

It was an amazing time of fellowship, worship, prayer, knowing & being known by one another.

I really want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who contributed to this amazing & unique event. And for all of you who faithfully prayed for me as I put this together. It was a much bigger challenge than I thought it would be but my heart broken state after my mom's passing took a much larger toll then I imagined.

I'm so grateful for all the help Linda Stapleton provided and the fantastic job she did hosting all of us in her "home town" of Liberec in The Czech Republic.

We had the honor & blessing to have Joy Russell, Stacey Schaub & Christine Hall Brown as our core ministry team for the second time. It really helped to bring continuity to the week, while quickly creating a safe environment, ensuring that the women would feel comfortable sharing their stories.

Our goal for this event was to help the women to find their voices, give concert skills to assist them when they have opportunities to share. Each participant was given the possibility to make a video that they would be able to share with their network of support.

Thanks to Bree Ann Lasher who so skillfully took the videos, photos & put them together into something amazing.

The ministry team was rounded off with Becky Castell, Marion Ingegneri & Cheryl Harris who so professionally & with such care equipped us with the skills necessary. Kathy Lasher provided the prayer support. We were blessed to have Debbie Roper, Melinda & Jim Scott from FMI.

We worshipped, learned, overcame personal challenges, each person had opportunity to share their story & be prayed for, as well as, we covered each person of our group that was absent. Many of us found their voices again. Click here to see how we Fellowshipped!

Thanks so much for investing in us! You are helping to build a strong community among us, as well as, ensuring that we are at our very best mentally, spiritual, & relationally.

One of the main goals of these retreats is for the hostess to share her world. For the rest of us to get to know their people, places, culture & how history has impacted the people of the place where they serve.

Here are some photos from our time at Herrenhut the place where modern missions started Click here to see Herrenhut

We also like to spend time in the main city near our host location. It helps to give context to the work being done in the region.

As expats we often miss out on things like birthdays & holidays. In many of these countries if you have a birthday your are to be responsible for organizing the party. This year's ministry team organized a birthday party for all of us Click here to see the party
